Learning Objectives
Echocardiography, due to its safety and repeatability features, low cost, and the richness and accuracy of the information provided, is the world's most widely used cardiovascular imaging method.
Even in the pediatric setting, echocardiographic examination is now required in a wide variety of clinical settings, from neonatal pathology to emergency rooms, from pediatrics to sports medicine. Therefore, trained professionals who can perform a proper echocardiographic evaluation - especially in emergency situation - are crucial.
This Course aims to provide the fundamental skills to perform and interpret echocardiographic studies in various clinical settings, from the evaluation of preterm infants to the management of patients with congenital heart disease.
Target
The Course is aimed at pediatricians, neonatologists, cardiologists and cardiac anesthesiologists.
During the first part of the training course, fundamental concepts of echocardiography in the pediatric field will be introduced.
In the second part, participants will have the opportunity to put into practice what they have learned using the ultra-realistic BabyWorks SAM mannequin. This cutting-edge simulator allows for practice in realistic clinical scenarios and helps refine technical skills.

The teaching staff of the Course is composed of specialists in Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, as well as physicians from the IRCCS Policlinico San Donato.

The Course is open to pediatricians, neonatologists, cardiologists, and cardiac anesthesiologists, and has a limited number of spots.
The registration fee is €1000 + VAT and includes access to both theoretical and practical activities, educational materials in digital format, a certificate of attendance, 20 ECM credits, and catering services as outlined in the program.
A maximum of 12 participants will be admitted.
