After graduating with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Milan and obtaining a PhD from the Open University (London), she specialized with honors in Allergology and Clinical Immunology at Vita-Salute San Raffaele University. She pursued further studies abroad at the INSERM-CNRS Immunology Centre in Marseille-Luminy, France.
As internist and immunologist, she is the Head of Unità Operativa di Medicina generale 2 - Medicina generale a indirizzo salute metabolica e invecchiamento - at the IRCCS San Raffaele Hospital, as well as the Progetto Strategico di Medicina integrazione ospedale territorio at IRCCS San Raffaele Turro.
She is also the Group Leader of the Innate Immunity and Tissue Remodeling Laboratory.
She is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at the Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she coordinates several courses for the International Medical Doctor Program and the Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Medicina e Chirurgia. She is also a lecturer in the Master's Degree in Biotechnology for Innovative Therapeutics and the Master di I livello in Infermiere ed Ostetrica di Ricerca.
She has been the Head of Residency School in Internal Medicine since November 2024.
