The Vita-Salute San Raffaele University has climbed the heights of the Times Higher Education Rankings by Subject 2025, achieving an extraordinary result in the Medical and Health field.  

Ranking second in Italy, UniSR is once again among the best universities for medicine and health. Worldwide, our university is ranked among the top 150 prestigious universities (range 126-150), a tangible sign of the University's excellence.

A commitment that makes the difference: excellence in scientific research

What are the key factors for UniSR? Undoubtedly the relentless passion for Research and Innovation. The score in Research Quality is the highest in Italy and is 93.5: it's the engine that has enabled UniSR to stand out globally.  This is the mark of an unwavering commitment to promoting scientific discoveries that make a difference in medicine and public health. Also, thanks to the unique connection with San Raffaele Hospital, the University offers students and researchers an invaluable opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects with a real impact on people's lives.

The way we were and where we are now: the leap forward in 2025

Compared to last year, UniSR has taken a remarkable step forward: in 2024, UniSR was in the 151-175 range worldwide.

In 2025 its score in Research went from 93.1 to 93.5 and its ranking from eleventh to ninth in the world. An improvement that does not go unnoticed, confirming our ongoing commitment to excellence!
